Get To Start Work From Home Tomorrow..... But..

Back in January I was chosen along with a handful of customer service agents to train and start working from home doing Live Chats with customers who had inquiries regarding the products we sold on our web site. Training is suppose to last about 3 weeks in office and then we would be home. Unfortunately that was not the case for us as we have been there going on 3 months!!LOL!!

Well today a few of my collages and I were asked to attend one of many unscheduled meetings. I knew it had to be something good since the managers hardly went outside at all today to burn some of there cancer sticks!! Something was up cause they were walking by us with huge grins on their faces!! I was excited because they never are this excited nor happy by this time every week. The meeting started with what they called good and bad news!!

Being anxious we opted to hear what the good news was first!! Yay.. It's what I have been waiting for for a few months now!! We were told we can start working from home starting tomorrow and to be sure to take home all our belongings. I was ecstatic! I wanted the meeting to end so I can call Toa and tell him the great news. Then it occurred to me that he also stated there was some bad news. I figured I was set therefore there couldn't be anything that would ruin my day at this point!! Boy was I wrong..

The bad news was we had alot of papers to read and sign before going home. He handed out all the paper work that needed to be signed before we were allowed to work from home. The paper work mainly stated that we gave our consent for them to enter our homes to connect both our personal computers to the company's severs. So at this point I was still overwhelmed with excitement that I signed every paper with a signature request on it. Jaywhon and Aubrey, the managemers 0f the chat team, were advising us to review the paper work before just signing them. So I figured a few extra minutes at the office to read these papers would be fine since I wouldn't have to be coming in anymore or at least anytime soon!! My joy quickly dissolved as I came across a paper that stated, "Internet Carrier's".

I briefly reviewed the page before signing it when I noticed that it stated ONLY 3 options for what Internet carriers we needed to have in order to start working from home. We had to have 1 of the 3, Comcast, Quest or Utopia (or something to that affect). When I saw that my heart skipped a few beats as I knew this would prevent me from going home. To be honest I do not even know who our carrier is. All I know is that it is a new company trying to expand:( I think Toa said it was Degis!?!?

So I will be back in the office all by my lonesome! Hopefully they make an exception for me cause I cant change my carrier!! They have the best price I have found!! Well until next time...
