Running late to work, I knew this was not going to be a good start to my day if I was late again. I reassured myself that as long as I catch every green light from here until I get to work, I might just make it on time with a few minutes to spare. Well I did catch every green light thus far so I was feeling better about the situation and everything started looking up for me.
I was about a block away from my work as I was pulling up to an intersection, when I witnessed a car accident. There was a SUV in front of me that stopped at the intersection and then proceeded to turn. Within a blink of an eye the SUV was hit by a car that rushed right through the stopped sign. As the SUV laid on it's side I quickly pulled over and ran to the SUV to make sure the driver was okay. I saw the driver of the white car that just hit him, getting out of her vehicle, shooken up about what just happened. After making sure she was okay, we proceeded over to the SUV to make sure the driver was okay, I noticed the back passengers side door struggling to open.I helped the driver open it as he continued to jump out of his vehicle. The driver of the SUV, who we will call "John" looked right at the driver of the little white car and continued toward her until he was face to face with her. She was apologizing hysterically. John started to lecture her on her driving. He then yelled "Why the hell didn't you stop, can you not read the sign? Did you not see me turning??"The other driver, whom we will call "Stacie", looked at me as if she was afraid he was going to hit her. John then took off the hood of his jacket and looked at me. I then realized he was young polynesian. Therefore I felt more obligated to help out our fellow man.
Once the situation calmed down, I called the cops to report the accident as John and Stacie were searching through there cars for a lighter for there cancer sticks. John and Stacie then walked over to me and thanked me for my assistance. Then this is where it got a little weird.
Stacie: I am so sorry. I didn't see the stop sign, the rain was coming down so fast and so hard.
John: It's okay. You should pay more attention when your driving. Are you okay though?
Stacie: Yeah, just a little shooken up. I think I need another cigarette.
John: Well I'm okay. Did you call the cops?
Stacie: Not yet but I will grab my insurance papers and call them.
John: Don't call them , I said I was fine. We don't need to call the cops if we don't have to.
John then looked to me and said, my trucks not that damaged is it!?LOL!! I was shocked he asked me. I answered him, "Its pretty banged up. Your windshield looks like its going to shatter soon." He then looked at both Stacie and I and then said, Can you guys help me flip it right side up so I can get to work. I told John I had called the cops already and he said its not that bad. So he went to his SUV and tried to push it right side up. I was stunned. I didn't know what to do. So I started walking towards his SUV as if I were going to help him and then just stood there shocked at his request. I honestly felt like a convict for being an accomplice to a crime.
He looked at me with with fear in his eyes as if he were a kid in a candy store who just got caught. He seemed pretty determined about something as he focused on how bad the damages were to his car. He mumbled to me, "I have a few warrants so I need to get out of here." At this point I wanted to just cover my face and run before he remembers me and tried to retaliate since I just called the cops. I tried to help him remain positive as I assured him the accident was not his fault. While in the back of my head I was telling myself I should have never stopped!!LOL!!
Stacie walked over to us and said that she had to wait for the cops cause her air bags deployed and her front bumper fell off so she can't leave even if she wanted to. John looked at me with disappointment in his eyes that I had called the cops.As soon as the situation got awkward I was saved from the red and blue lights racing down the street. After providing the cops with my statement I left the scene.
John then helped me realize there was a whole new meaning to "Assisting at a scene of an accident!!LOL!!" It must be just me but I must have a ambiguity way of thinking.

Oh my goodness, I would be freaking out. How awkward! You were only trying to help, I would have gotten the hell outta there ASAP too. lol
Good thing no one was hurt. But I still think your more of a snitch, than an accomplice! Lol See ya at volleyball tonight. :)
that is sooo serid! I wonder why he didn't want the cops to come!!! crazY! eventhough you were running late, seems like you were right on time!... what did your work say?
So much for being late and for being the good samaritan - you rock!
haha he shouldn't worry the cops don't ask for your drivers license and all that when in an accident. They are simply there to make sure the paperwork is done, and that traffic is flowing. U did the right thing :) lol @ him asking you to help him flip his ride right side up haha don't ever...I would've been like sir are u crazy, I'm a lady! lmbo
